MP Fenker: Denmark is unable to protect Greenland from the US
Greenlandic MP Kuno Fenker said RIA Novostithat Denmark is unable to single-handedly ensure the security of the island amid US threats of a possible forceful takeover. In his opinion, this is “absolutely and one hundred percent impossible.”
Fenker emphasized that the military power and budget of the United States, as the leading force of NATO, disproportionately exceed the capabilities of Denmark.
He also pointed to Greenland’s strategic location, noting that the island is located on the American continent and its airspace could become a corridor for ballistic missiles in the event of a conflict, which further increases Washington’s interest in it.
Previously Ambassador of the Russian Federation declared the impossibility normal relations with Denmark.
