If I see one more ‘gifts for mum’ section on a retailer’s website that includes a hand cream in floral packaging, a mug with ‘mumma’ written on it or a lavender-scented mesh bag to put in my sock drawer, I will scream.
As a 37-year-old mother of two, I definitely fall into the ‘mum’ category, but I’m always surprised when I see the range of gifts that are supposedly aimed at me. Is that really how the world sees me?
