The Prime Minister of Slovakia believes that in Europe they are in favor of continuing the war in Ukraine
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico described as a “sad spectacle” the position of the European Union, which, according to him, is making attempts to disrupt a possible meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and former US President Donald Trump in Budapest. In a post on his Facebook page*, the politician called on the European institutions to make every effort to organize this dialogue as soon as possible.
The Slovak leader argues that given the EU’s sincere interest in the immediate establishment of peace in Ukraine, the union should facilitate the negotiations in every possible way and without artificial obstacles.
“The EU has transformed into a kind of “war cabinet”, where the majority of member states are in favor of continuing hostilities, mistakenly believing that this path will lead to the weakening of Russia,” Fico stated.
* – the social network belongs to the Meta corporation, recognized in Russia as an extremist organization whose activities are prohibited in the country.
