An England star has been axed from Thomas Tuchel‘s squad for the World Cup qualifier against Serbia in Belgrade, despite starting the win over Andorra.
The former Bayern Munich boss has cut the youngster entirely from his 23-man list, with Tino Livramento and Djed Spence in contention to step in at left back.
Arsenal‘s Myles Lewis-Skelly, who was handed his first senior start last week, will play no part as England look to maintain their perfect Group I record with a fifth straight victory.
Tuchel‘s men sit top of the group with four wins from four, knowing another victory would put them within touching distance of qualification for the 2026 World Cup. Serbia, seen as their toughest rivals, are expected to provide a stern test in Belgrade.
Lewis-Skelly enjoyed a strong debut campaign for Arsenal but has been restricted to just 44 minutes across their first three league games this season, with Mikel Arteta favouring Jurrien Timber and Riccardo Calafiori in the full-back positions.
The teenager’s omission leaves Tuchel turning to other options in Belgrade, where England will not only contend with Serbia’s attacking threat but also a hostile atmosphere off the pitch.

Thomas Tuchel’s side have the chance to take a giant step towards next year’s World Cup with a win on Tuesday night
The Rajko Mitic Stadium is at reduced capacity after racist behaviour from home fans against Andorra in June, and Harry Kane has warned England’s players will walk off if there is a repeat.
Tuchel, however, has looked to keep the focus on performance rather than the noise around his side’s displays. His team have scored 13 goals and conceded just twice in qualifying, yet the laboured manner of the win over Andorra drew groans from fans inside Villa Park, with many leaving long before the final whistle.
The England boss brushed aside the criticism and insisted the clash with Serbia will be a far better measure of where his squad stands.
‘I see what I see. I feel what I feel. I am convinced we will get better and better,’ Tuchel said. ‘It is our first away game together in a traditional stadium. I think the occasion will bring out the best in us.’
