The Egyptian team opened the scoring early through Ahmed Khaled Kabaka in the fifth minute, but New Zealand returned strongly and scored two consecutive goals in the 13th and 16th minutes through Luke Smith and Shayan Locke.

With this loss, the Egyptian team continues to decline in the championship, after it had previously lost in the first round against Japan with two clean goals.

After two rounds, the Egyptian national team occupies the last place in the first group without any balance of points, while the New Zealand team achieved its first victory, collecting 3 points and sharing the group’s lead temporarily with Japan and Chile, who will face each other later in the second round.

The Egyptian team remains a very weak opportunity to qualify for the exclusionary roles, as it faces in the closing round its Chilean counterpart next Saturday.

It is noteworthy that the tournament includes 24 teams that were distributed to six groups, with four teams in each group, and qualifies for the elimination roles and the runners -up of each group, in addition to the four best teams that occupy the third place in the six groups.
