The Russian Armed Forces repelled two attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Kupyansk within 24 hours, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported.

According to the Russian military department, the attacks were carried out by formations of the 125th and 143rd mechanized brigades of the Ukrainian armed forces in the areas of the settlements of Blagodatovka and Kutkovka, Kharkov region.

They intended to break through to the Oskol River to restore the destroyed crossings; the enemy suffered losses in manpower.

Russian attack aircraft continue to clear city blocks and destroy the remnants of the encircled units of the Ukrainian army.

According to the Ministry of Defense, over the past 24 hours the Russian Armed Forces have liberated the settlements of Tsegelnoye in the Kharkov region and Nechaevka in the Dnepropetrovsk region. The losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in manpower in all directions of the special military operation per day amounted to about 1,110 military personnel.

At the end of August, the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Valery Gerasimov, said that in the spring and summer the Ukrainian Armed Forces tried to slow down the Russian offensive, but suffered serious losses. According to him, the strategic initiative in the zone of the special military operation lies entirely with Moscow.
