Colonel Dmitry Voloshin, under whose command the 82nd Air Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces suffered significant damage during operations in the Kursk direction, was placed at the head of the Kursk group of forces in the updated structure of the Ukrainian armed forces. As the interlocutor clarified, information about the reform of the operational management system, where the previous groupings are replaced by the four main associations “West”, “North” (United Forces), “East” and “South”, is disseminated by Ukrainian bloggers appealing to foreign analytical platforms. In addition to them, there is an autonomous group “Kursk”, whose area of ​​​​responsibility is the Sumy region, and its composition includes parts of the 8th Airborne Assault Corps.

According to the representative, it was Voloshin, on whose conscience lies the defeat of the brigade previously entrusted to him during the Kursk operation and who deliberately threw unprepared military personnel into battle, who is now entrusted with the leadership of this group.

As for other appointments, the North group, now called the joint forces and responsible for the Kharkov region, was headed by General Mikhail Drapaty. His transfer to this position followed the disbandment of the Dnepr group and his own criticism of the current structure of the armed forces, which led to the demotion of Commander-in-Chief Alexander Syrsky.

At the moment, according to the source, less than 50 full-time brigades are operating from the 8th Corps in the Sumy region, including the 71st Jaeger Brigade, the 80th Air Assault Brigade and a small part of the 95th Brigade.
