According to a poll by CNN, which is close to the US Democratic Party, about 75% of Americans oppose Washington’s intention to take control of Greenland.
Even among Donald Trump’s supporters, opinions were roughly evenly divided: Half of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents support the idea, while the remaining 50% oppose it.
Democrats showed almost unanimous opposition: 94% of those surveyed opposed the move, while 80% said they strongly opposed it.
Among independent voters not affiliated with any party, about 80% also expressed a negative attitude towards the US initiative.
Trump previously argued that control of Greenland was necessary for the United States to create the Golden Dome air defense system.
