Clues proving Melania Trump formed VERY different bonds with Princess Kate and Queen Camilla
Melania Trump has been getting to know the British Royal family during her historic state visit to the UK this week – but it appears she has warmed to some members more than others.
Body language expert Judi James exclusively told the Daily Mail that Melania, 55, exudes very different energy around Queen Camilla, 78, and Princess Kate Middleton, 43 – with Donald Trump’s wife noticeably less relaxed around one.
According to Judi, the First Lady appeared reserved and maintained a stoic demeanor when seen conversing with Queen Camilla – noting moments of ‘awkwardness.’
In comparison, Judi noted the FLOTUS appeared more animated and relaxed with Kate, mirroring her enthusiasm and appearing to let her guard down to showcase more of her authentic self.
‘We saw a much less relaxed-looking version of Melania when she was being shown around Windsor Castle by the Queen,’ Judi exclusively told the Daily Mail.
She noted the First Lady retained the kind of ‘elegant but formal poses and expressions’ that she usually reverts to during formal outings and events.
‘There was some awkwardness about the choreography, too,’ the body language expert continued. ‘Although Camilla seemed to be chatting, there were fewer moments of emotional “prods” like jokes or easygoing laughter during this outing.’
‘Perhaps Melania expected the Queen to be incessantly formal but there were no moments of mirroring to suggest either woman slid out of role as Queen and FLOTUS to forge any type of deeper, more empathetic friendship,’ she observed.

While the First Lady appeared more stilted around the Queen, Judi declared that Melania’s time with Kate instead opened up her more playful side.
Kate invited Melania to meet with the Scouts Squirrels on Thursday morning before she joined husband Donald and UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer at his country home at Chequers in Buckinghamshire.
The two ladies met up with the youngest part of the UK Scouting organization designed for four to five-year-olds in front of Frogmore House, with the two women clearly delighted by what they saw.
Judi noted that the outing resulted in an ‘endearing, more relatable version of Melania’ – and appears that it was Kate who brought it out of her with ‘fun-bombing body language.’
‘Kate’s non-verbal technique seems to be to “mirror, pace and lead” having first shown Melania her more formal and elegant side before busting out her relaxed and playful version to allow and encourage the First Lady to do the same,’ Judi explained.
The body language expert continued, adding the Princess of Wales’ ‘total immersion’ techniques that she used with the kids also managed to charm the First Lady.
‘Melania has been accused of a sphynx-like lack of expressive body language,’ Judi claimed, saying she prefers an elegant ‘screen goddess look of more static beauty.’
However, Judi said that it was obvious the mom-of-one shares the same passion for children’s welfare as Kate does.

She detailed how the Princess of Wales indicated on the first day of their visit that she intended to approach Melania with an ‘animated sense of enthusiasm, keenness and fun.’
‘The result is the mirroring between the two women here as Kate plays, pulls faces with the children and performs her dimpled, nose-wrinkled laugh and Melania takes her lead, clearly adoring the opportunity to relax and show off her own more playful side,’ she noted.
Judi also picked up on some ‘intense mirroring’ between the two women as they walked together.
‘Kate’s body language suggests excitement to show the woman she appears determined to treat as her new friend the scouts and their games and tasks,’ she observed.
Judi declared Kate’s behavior around Melania appears to have ‘flipped a switch’ in Melania’s own body language reserves.
‘Her normal caution when it comes to relaxing officially seems to vanish as she sees a royal princess just relaxing and getting stuck in,’ she enthused.
‘Suddenly we’re treated to Melania’s prolonged and hugely authentic smile that is closer to Kate’s [smile] of authentic pleasure than her usual rather rigid one with her husband,’ she said.
Judi added there was a ‘sense of shared joy and even shared freedom’ as the pair swapped their high heels and diamonds for flat shoes and more casual clothing for the visit.
However, she noted Kate still gave a nod to FLOTUS’s immaculate styling by avoiding her own signature look of jeans and well-worn boots – instead opting for a Ralph Lauren skirt, khaki suede jacket and brown cashmere knitted vest.

The observation comes as Queen Camilla momentarily found herself in an awkward social situation on Wednesday as she welcomed the Trump’s to Windsor Castle, with the First Lady breaking off a conversation with Camilla after spotting Kate over her shoulder.
Kate reciprocated after spotting Melania, leaving Prince William behind as she headed straight for the First Lady.
An animated discussion between Melania and Kate followed, with Queen Camila left looking on, appearing to search for a new conversation to join.
The Queen also took Melania on a tour of Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House at Windsor Castle, the largest and most famous dolls’ house in the world on Thursday morning, as well as going on a tour of the Royal Library and some of its priceless treasures.
