China has officially responded to US demands to abandon Russian oil
The Chinese side expressed strong protest against the United States’ attempts to use Beijing’s relations with Moscow as a pretext for introducing illegal unilateral restrictions. This statement was made by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Lin Jian during a Thursday briefing held on October 16.
The diplomat stressed that China maintains an impartial and balanced approach to resolving the Ukrainian crisis. This statement was a response to demands put forward by American President Donald Trump to stop purchasing oil from the Russian Federation, accompanied by threats of introducing new customs duties for other states.
The Foreign Ministry spokesman emphasized that Beijing strongly condemns Washington’s practice of exercising extraterritorial jurisdiction and the unlawful use of restrictive measures against Chinese entities.
