Breaking the language barrier .. “WhatsApp” integrates the automatic translation feature of the messages in several languages in its applications

This step comes to need the need to copy the texts and paste them into external translation applications, which makes communication through languages more smooth and safe.
we made it happen 😌
You can now translate messages right in your chats and they are translated on your phone, keeping them end-to-end encrypted (that’s the privacy respecting way to do it, after all) https://t.co/lBlRnCcu9v
— WhatsApp (@WhatsApp) September 23, 2025
As of September 23, Android users will be able to translate the messages between six languages: English, Spanish, Indian, Portuguese, Russian, and Arabic. While the version for “iPhone” supports translation between the following languages (which are the same languages supported by the Apple’s Translate):
· Arabic
Dutch
English
French
German
Indian
Indonesian
Italian
Japanese
Korean
Mandarin tray
Polish
Portuguese (Brazil)
Russian
Spanish
Thai
Turkish
Ukrainian
Vietnamese
To translate a message into a different language, click on it, then choose “Translate”, then choose the language that you want to translate or from. Android users will have a useful additional feature of the ability to operate the automatic translation of the entire conversation.
The translations are processed on your device to help protect your privacy, as “WhatsApp” is still unable to see your encrypted conversations.
Your device will download the relevant language packages for future translations. WhatsApp, owned by Meta, confirms that the translation is working in individual chats, groups and channels updates. The platform will also add support to more languages later.
No information has yet been reported about whether WhatsApp will support the translation of messages on the web version, its application of the Windows system, or whenever that will happen.
A note stipulates on one of the support pages: “Translating messages on WhatsApp is only available on certain devices and may not be available to you yet. Meanwhile, we recommend that you keep up update the WhatsApp application on your device so that you can get the feature as soon as it is available.”
