Android Auto users report zooming bug – Is your screen affected?

Some Android Auto users have noticed a strange problem that their screen looks zoomed in, making apps like Google Maps and Spotify appear way larger than they should. This issue happens whether you’re connected through a cable or wirelessly.

The issue was first mentioned by a driver on Reddit, who said their 2024 Chevy 2500’s screen had been zoomed in for weeks. After trying a newer Ford truck, they still saw the same issue. The zoom affects different apps, but Maps and Spotify seem to be the main ones. Sometimes, it’s just the navigation screen that looks magnified, while the music part stays normal.

Right now, we don’t know how many people are facing this issue or if it’s related to specific phone models. The main user affected had an older phone running Android 12. But other users with newer phones, including other Pixel models, also reported seeing the zoom issue.

Many people have tried common fixes like changing cables, reinstalling apps, and clearing cache, but none of these solutions seem to help. Some suggested more advanced fixes, like sideloading a newer version of Android Auto or messing with developer settings, but these didn’t work for everyone either.

This Zoom glitch is still a mystery. While Android Auto has had bugs before, this particular one seems odd and hasn’t been fully explained yet.

If you’ve noticed your Android Auto screen zooming in, you’re not alone. It might help to share your experience so that others can see if they’re dealing with the same problem. Hopefully, Google will release an update to fix it soon.
