Samsung One UI 8.0: Old devices will face a 2-month delay

Samsung has started delivering One UI 8.0 for the Galaxy S25 series and revealed a roadmap, which shows up to a 2-month delay for old devices.

This software brings upgrades over One UI 7.0, but its test run has been quite disappointing, given the fact that it took four months to conclude the program with only three models.

The stable One UI 8.0 update is limited to South Korea as of the time of writing this article and will expand gradually throughout this week. This is another major frustration with such a rollout, which will only increase the wait for S25 series users.

The real turmoil has been dubbed the new rollout plan for 2025, and it consists of devices from the S-Series, Fold, Tab, and A-Series. Here’s a list of devices that will get the latest update, according to Samsung’s South Korea community.

Samsung has been testing this software since May this year, but a stable build is only distributed to the Galaxy S25 series. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S24, S23, and S22 series are scheduled to get this update in October. Latest phones from the A-series and flagship tablets are also bundled in the next month’s package.

The Galaxy Z Fold 5, Flip 5, as well as other devices, will fetch the One UI 8.0 in November. It’s possible that the company may add more devices to the tally but nothing is certain for the time being. That makes the One UI 8.0 rollout delay exceed a 2-month window. However, Samsung should wrap up the roadmap earlier than expected, but its sluggish development cycle may not allow that to happen.
