CNN: Officials intend to convince Trump not to conduct nuclear tests
Senior American officials, according to CNN, intend to convince US President Donald Trump not to test nuclear weapons.
Two knowledgeable sources told the channel that Energy Secretary Chris Wright, the head of the National Nuclear Security Administration Brandon Williams, as well as representatives of the National Laboratories plan to tell the White House that detonating weapons to test nuclear warheads, as the US President proposed, is inappropriate.
On October 30, Trump said that he had ordered nuclear weapons testing “on an equal basis” with other states that allegedly have relevant programs.
