The real reason Melania Trump wore huge hat for UK state visit
Melania Trump wearing such a huge hat during her second UK state visit gives a clear signal that she ‘desires to hide,’ a body language expert has boldly claimed.
The First Lady, 55, exuded elegance as she arrived to meet the British Royal family alongside her husband, President Donald Trump, on Wednesday.
She looked effortlessly chic in a Christian Dior Haute Couture dark gray skirt suit that flared out at the waist and fell just below her knees.
Melania complimented her ensemble with an extraordinarily large wide-brimmed purple wool hat which for the most part, kept her eyes hidden.
Body language expert Judi James believes she wore this captivating accessory in a bid to keep a low profile – and not to overshadow her husband’s big moment.
Speaking exclusively to Daily Mail, Judi said: ‘I’m fascinated to work out why Melania is wearing a similar shaped hat to the one she wore to the inauguration, which forms the shape of a large lid that completely hides her face.
‘For a woman known for her beauty this shape of hat suggests a desire to hide.
‘Royal women will tend to adore the flying saucer style too but will always wear the hat at an acute angle to ensure their faces are totally on display.

Judi adds that Melania’s hat signals that she is there to ‘support and even help choreograph her husband rather than being the star herself’

The First Lady’s eyes were largely hidden by the accessory as she and Donald Trump were welcomed at Windsor Castle
‘Melania’s body language so far suggests a more assertive and confident approach to this royal visit than the last one but she also seems to be keen to project a more mysterious aura here on the arrival, as though she is there to support and even help choreograph her husband rather than being the star herself.’
Besides her large hat and her skirt suit, Melania – who did not remove her hat after heading indoors – wore her blonde tresses in a slick bun that was largely hidden.
She was expertly poised in her heels as she walked alongside her husband, Prince William and Princess Kate in the Walled Garden on the Windsor estate.
The group walked a short distance to meet King Charles III and Queen Camilla outside Victoria House to officially launch the trip.
For his part, Trump was wearing a smart suit but offered a nod to Melania’s own color palette with his choice of tie.
Social media erupted into a frenzy over Melania’s choice of headwear with many rushing to X, formerly Twitter, to pass comment.
One wrote, in part: ‘You literally can’t see half of Melania’s face in that hat. All she can see is the brim and everyone else is talking to her chin.’
Another noted: ‘I’m not a fan of Melania’s hat. It’s Hard to see her face.’

Body language expert Judi James claims Melania wore such a hat to ‘project a more mysterious aura’

‘I wonder what the reason Melania is wearing such a dark color and dark hat over her face?’ someone else shared.
But this is not the first time that Melania has appeared to send a message with a wide brimmed boater.
At her husband’s inauguration in January, she caused quite the stir in a large navy wide-brimmed hat with a flat top and white trimming, designed by Eric Javits.
The accessory quickly gained viral fame with many jokingly speculating that she wore it to avoid kissing Trump, particularly as when he leaned in for a peck, he was unable to even get to her cheek as the hat blocked him.

Its creator, Javits, however told ABC News the hat was supposed to be ‘simple,’ ‘understated,’ and ‘classic.’
He went on to reveal some of the political motivations behind the look, explaining: ‘I think she was thinking of protocol and looking very elegant and very simple in a way.’
‘It’s a time of some restraint, and it’s really sort of a turning point to more conservative values,’ he added.
Javits said that the handmade creation was crafted completely by himself with only eight percent of the stitching machine-sewn.
