The Aussie supermarket just voted the country’s most trusted – and it’s not Aldi, Woolies or Coles
A surprising supermarket has taken out the top spot Australian consumer-voted awards – and it’s not Woolworths, Coles or Aldi.
Taking out four of the eight major supermarket prizes in Finder’s 2025 Customer Satisfaction Awards was none other than Harris Farm.
The small grocery chain received four awards in the supermarket category, including ‘Most Loved’, ‘Most Recommended’, ‘Most Trusted’ and ‘Top Rated Supermarket Produce’.
The prizes were awarded based on a survey of over 10,000 consumers.
Harris Farm’s emergence as a clear consumer favourite is impressive given its much smaller footprint compared to Coles and Woolworths.
Harris Farm currently operates 33 stores across NSW, Queensland and the ACT. By comparison, Woolies and Coles have almost 2000 national stores combined.
Within Australia’s $120 billion supermarket sector, Harris Farm occupies a modest $788 million in earnings.

Harris Farm picked up wins in emotive categories like ‘Most Loved’ and ‘Most Trusted’ supermarket
Daily Mail spoke to Finder’s head of consumer research Graham Cooke, who agreed that Harris Farm’s recent accolades showed it was performing beyond expectations.
‘What’s impressive is the across-the-board sweep for Harris Farm this year, showing that they are really winning in the conversation with the customer,’ Graham said.

The smaller grocery store’s ability to win in emotive categories like ‘Most Loved’ and ‘Most Trusted’ supermarket was also acknowledged as a major coup.
Graham observed that it reflected an overarching theme at this year’s awards, which saw several smaller businesses – like Harris Farm – ‘dominate’ over their much larger competitors in these types of categories.
‘The bigger brands won only in areas where size makes a difference – delivery network and rewards programs,’ he explained.
‘[But] it’s difficult for a big national retail brand to feel personal, difficult for customers to get to know staff by name, which is why I think smaller brands won out on all the perception awards.’
The Finder spokesperson also noted that the bigger supermarkets ‘have not been helped by negative headlines and mostly unsubstantiated claims about price gouging’.
‘It will be interesting to see if these feelings towards the retailers continue as, and if, the cost of living crisis improves,’ Graham added.

Harris Farm co-executive Luke explained that the family-owned business’ model is based around values of ‘fairness, freshness, and a real love of food’
Harris Farm is a family-run grocery chain that was founded more than 50 years ago.
It was established in 1971 by David and Cathy Harris as a fresh food store in Sydney’s Villawood.
The supermarket business is now run by two of the couple’s five sons, Angus and Luke Harris.
The co-executives regarded the store’s recent wins at Finder’s 2025 Customer Satisfaction Awards as an ‘extraordinary’ feat for a family-run business.
Luke suggested their family-owned business model may explain why Harris Farm rated so highly with customers, as the business is built around their parent’s values of ‘fairness, freshness, and a real love of food’.
‘When you’ve got family at the helm, those values don’t just sit on the wall; they’re lived every day,’ Luke told Yahoo Finance.
‘We feel a deep responsibility to carry that through for our team, our growers, and our customers.’
