When Selena Gomez tied the knot with Benny Blanco over the weekend, a slew of their celebrity pals were in attendance.

But there was one person who was nowhere to be seen… Selena’s ex-best friend Francia Raisa, who famously donated her kidney to the Calm Down songstress in 2017.

The singer, 33, and the producer, 37, tied the knot in Santa Barbara on Saturday during a lavish celebration attended by 170 family and friends, including Selena’s longtime pal Taylor Swift and her Only Murders in the Building co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short.

Other celebrities in attendance include Paris Hilton, Paul Rudd, Ed SheeranSZA, Camila CabelloWinnas, Mark Ronson, Cara DelevingneEric Andre, and Zoe Saldana.

Francia, 37, was not seen in any photos from the event. Additionally, while the wedding was going on, Francia posted a video of herself dancing with choreographer Sasha Farber to Instagram.

The clip showed Francia, dressed in leggings and a sports bra, showing off her moves outside on a street in Los Angeles alongside Sasha, who donned black trousers and a plaid vest.

Many fans took the post as proof that she was not in attendance at Selena’s nuptials, and they flooded the comment section with messages about it.

‘So you were not invited to the wedding?’ theorized one user.

‘You should be the guest of honor at least in that wedding, you are her hero,’ read a fifth comment.

People also discussed Francia’s alleged absence from the wedding on X, formerly Twitter.

After one fan shared a video posted by Selena’s former Wizards of Waverly Place costar Jennifer Stone getting ready for the reception, another replied with, ‘Everyone (was there) except the girl who donated her a kidney.’

It remains unclear whether or not Francia was invited.

Selena and Francia have had a long and rocky relationship.

The two stars first met at a charity event back in 2007, and they quickly formed a strong bond – becoming practically inseparable, and regularly gushing about one another in interviews and on social media, even describing each other as ‘sisters’ on numerous occasions.

And when Selena became gravely ill from her battled with the auto-immune disease lupus in 2017, Francia gave her the ‘ultimate gift’ by ‘volunteering’ to donate her kidney to the singer – something that should have brought them even closer, but actually ignited a fierce rift between the best friends months later.

Francia, who later revealed that she severely struggled with her physical and mental health after the operation, reportedly became enraged when Selena was spotted drinking alcohol during a wild night out at the Four Seasons hotel in New York City one year after the transplant.

The two ladies allegedly got into a massive blow out over Selena’s ‘unhealthy choices,’ however, after she decided to check herself into a treatment center in October 2018, she and Francia became close again.

They even went on to get matching tattoos in December 2019, but in November 2022, rumors that they had fallen out again erupted online.

Francia commented on a social media post about the interview, writing, ‘Interesting.’

Selena then replied to a TikTok about it and said, ‘Sorry I didn’t mention every person I know.’

By July 2023, it seemed the drama was behind them as Selena posted a sweet tribute to Francia for her birthday.

That October, Francia showed her support for Selena by attending a benefit she was hosting for the Rare Impact Fund.

‘Even though we’ve had our zigzags in life, we could still come together and be friends and still have our old times. I’m just so glad that we’re back together,’ Francia said at the time.
