Samsung bloatware could be the next big annoyance

Samsung bloatware could be the next big annoyance
Samsung‘s new Galaxy Tab S11 is a powerful and the latest tablet. It comes with a bright screen, great performance, and S Pen support. But while the hardware is great, there’s something about Samsung’s software that’s raising concerns again – bloatware.
Bloatware means apps that come already installed on a new device, even if you didn’t ask for them. Sometimes these apps can’t even be deleted. Samsung has been criticized for this in the past, but things have gotten better with previous devices. Now, it looks like bloatware is quietly coming back, and in a new way.
The Galaxy Tab S11 comes with four new pre-installed apps – Clip Studio, Goodnotes, LumaFusion, and Notion. These are useful apps for drawing, note-taking, and editing. Samsung even offers free trials and discounts for them, which may sound like a good deal.

But here’s the problem that Samsung is now promoting these apps as part of the tablet’s features. This could be a strategy to make bloatware seem helpful or normal. If users get used to it, Samsung might start adding more pre-loaded apps in the future, not to help users, but to promote them.
There are better ways to offer apps, like showing them during setup and letting users choose what they want to install. Samsung already does this in some countries with its “Galaxy Picks” screen or in the Galaxy Store.
Samsung seems to be changing how it adds bloatware to make it look like a benefit. But even helpful apps should be optional. Users should have the choice, not have them forced on their new devices, as it could be annoying for some users. Stay tuned for more information.
