Popular influencer claims he was denied entry to New York City club after posting about Charlie Kirk’s death

An influencer has claimed he was denied entry to a private members club in New York City because he paid tribute to right wing commentator Charlie Kirk following his assassination.

Social media star Kyle Forgeard alleged that he was turned away from The Twenty Two in Manhattan by a doorman who supposedly took issue with his public message of condolence to Kirk.

Once it was confirmed that father of two Kirk had died after being shot in the neck by a lone gunman at Utah Valley University, Forgeard had shared a message acknowledging his death.

Alongside a photo of the pair engaged in conversation, he wrote: ‘Absolutely speechless. Rest in peace Charlie.’

It was this message that Forgeard claims got him refused from the establishment.

Forgeard, who shared his allegations with his 2.2 million followers on Instagram, added that the rest of his party was allowed in.

Posting on his story, he claimed: ‘Club doorman at 22 club in NYC let the entire group I was with in tonight and they only denied me… doorman makes a comment to my face about me posting my condolences for Charlie Kirk.

‘I don’t even know what to say. F**k club 22 in NYC.’

In a separate post, Forgeard urged his followers to tell the exclusive club to ‘get it together.’

Daily Mail has contacted The Twenty Two for comment.

However, hours after his posts went viral, the influencer revealed that the club had contacted him directly to clarify the situation.

’22 Club in NYC last night. I actually know the owners and have met them in real life, they are good dudes,’ Forgeard said in a post on his Instagram Stories. ‘They called and apologized and explained last night 22 was fully booked for a private event so the staff working (including the absolute loser doorman) wasn’t the usual 22 staff.’

Forgeard then said he wouldn’t be blaming ‘ownership as a whole’ for the situation, before continuing to call out the doorman, who he described as a ‘dumb a** horrible human’.

The Twenty Two New York is located in Union Square.

On its website, it states that it does not condone improper behavior from any of our guests.

‘We kindly ask that you treat our other guests, our staff and The Hotel with the utmost respect during your stay or visit,’ it reads.

‘We reserve the right to ask you to leave the premises and cancel the rest of your stay in the event that you fail to respect this policy.

‘Furthermore, we reserve the right not to accept future bookings from you and/or refuse you entry to our premises, and other hotels in our group.

‘The Twenty Two New York has absolutely no tolerance for, but not limited to: sexual harassment, racial or sexual orientation discrimination.

‘Any misdemeanor of this nature will result in expulsion from the premises and refusal of future bookings.’

The Twenty Two has been inundated with one-star reviews since Forgeard made his claims.

Taking to Google, one said: ‘My friend was denied entry to the establishment because he had a post of Charlie Kirk who he knew giving his condolences publicly.

‘The doorman who I hope doesn’t represent the company as a whole told him only out the whole group he couldn’t enter because he posted a picture with a man who was just murdered!

‘Disgraceful, evil, and exactly why people are getting murdered. Hopefully you fire him and publicly apologize.’

Another added: ‘Don’t let people in based on their political views. Didn’t let my buddy in because he posted a memorial on his Instagram about Charlie Kirk when he was assassinated. Disgusting!’

Kirk has died after being shot in the neck at an event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.

The conservative commentator, 31, was hit by a single bullet while speaking to a crowd at the public university in Orem at lunchtime.

The father-of-two, known for his fierce MAGA views and combative debates with college kids across the country, collapsed immediately after being hit in the neck by a single shot from about 200 yards.

Kirk had been answering a question about mass shootings mere seconds before he was struck.

He was rushed to hospital in a critical condition, but was declared dead two-and-half hours later.
