‘Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars’ premieres October 10

For the past few years, FX’s The Bear has been offering a dramatized glimpse into what it means and what it takes to try to win the culinary world’s highest honor.

Now, Apple TV+ is showcasing the real thing in “Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars,” an eight-part docuseries that will take viewers to restaurants in the US, the UK, Ireland, Italy, Denmark, Sweden, and Mexico, telling the stories of restaurants and chefs chasing “their first, second or even third Michelin star.”

“The eight-part series, hosted by Jesse Burgess, food expert and co-founder of the global food and travel platform Topjaw, takes viewers inside the emotionally charged, high-stakes world of fine dining — capturing the pressure and ambition that define the road to Michelin recognition.(…) With unprecedented access to Michelin — including rare, on-the-record interviews with anonymous inspectors — the series delivers a chef’s-eye view of one of the culinary world’s most elusive honors, and the human stories behind the pursuit of perfection.”

“Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars” has Gordon Ramsay as executive producer, and if the trailer below is anything to go by, it will be a wild ride for epicurious Apple TV+ subscribers.
