MrBeast faces fierce backlash for trapping man in burning building as part of stunt: ‘He’s going too far’

MrBeast has spoken out after he sparked health and safety concerns with his latest high-stakes stunt which involved a man trying to escape a burning building.
On Saturday, the YouTuber, 27, uploaded his latest dare-devil video – titled Would You Risk Dying For $500,000? – in which he challenged a contestant to a series of ‘death traps.’
The wild clip began with the man tied with rope to a chair before the room is set alight.
‘This man is literally in a burning building,’ MrBeast said in the footage. ‘Oh my gosh, this is the craziest thing we’ve ever built.
‘Behind him is $500,000 which he could win if he completes seven death traps, including getting shot out of a cannon into fire, jumps through death-defying rings of fire, surviving massive fiery explosions, and so much more.’
In the video, MrBeast confirmed the contestant was a professional stuntman but added that he was going to be pushed ‘to the max.’
Unsurprisingly, the video ignited a fierce backlash from fans who expressed worries over safety.
However, MrBeast has since insisted that he takes safety ‘extremely seriously’ and that all the correct measures were taken.
MrBeast has clarified his latest daring stunt video titled, ‘Would You Risk Dying For $500,000?’
In the clip, a man is tied up in a burning building and is challenged to get as much money out
‘In case there’s any concern about the safety of the stuntman contestant, I just wanted to mention that we take safety extremely seriously,’ he said.
‘Every challenge was tested by multiple stuntmen, we have a full rescue team on standby with firefighters, EMTs and divers equipped with an ambulance and fire truck.
‘We also had a pyro team controlling the fires and multiple fire suppression methods on every challenge to ensure we could essentially turn off the fire if there was ever an issue.
‘But our stunt coordinator did an amazing job as always, and none of these systems were ever needed. Just wanted to be transparent with you all since I saw some concern!’
In a separate post on X, formerly Twitter, he added: ‘This blew up, if you’re curious obviously we had ventilation for the smoke and a kill switch to cut off the fires.
‘We had professionals test this extensively and the guy in the video as stated is a professional stunt man. I take safety more serious than you could ever imagine.’
Despite MrBeast’s explanation of the safety aspects, social media users were shocked by the stunts at hand.
Taking to X, one commented: ‘Yikes… MrBeast really taking “high stakes” to a whole new level.’

‘This ain’t content anymore, it’s Squid Game season 2 audition tapes,’ remarked another.
A third said: ‘He’s going too far with the videos.’
‘MrBeast keeps pushing limits… but is this challenge pushing too far? That’s the real question,’ asked another.
MrBeast is known for his incredibly risky stunts and big money giveaways, which he posts across various social media platforms.
He is also the host of the reality competition series Beast Games, which awarded its first season winner a record-breaking $10 million in prize money.
