Mid-life men who look better now than they did in their 20s! Silver foxes who have got better with age – as Roger Taylor, 65, steals the show at his daughter’s wedding

Mid-life men who look better now than they did in their 20s! Silver foxes who have got better with age – as Roger Taylor, 65, steals the show at his daughter’s wedding
It’s bad form to upstage the bride, especially when it’s your own daughter, but Duran Duran drummer Roger Taylor unwittingly stole the show this week as he walked down the aisle in Italy.
Fans were struck by his impressively youthful looks aged 65, as he escorted Ellea to the altar, cutting a dashing figure in a classic black tuxedo with a shock of dark hair.
Elsewhere, Hollywood hotshots, including Colin Firth and George Clooney, are now making more hearts flutter in their seventh decade thatn they did in their awkward twenties.
When Clooney commenced his acting career at the age of 21, a questionable black mullet took the place of his now-trademark grey locks.
His fellow actor Hugh Jackman, 56, has followed a similar trajectory, transforming from the boy next door to a silver fox.
The actor’s increased status as a heartthrob may also be attributed to the acting roles he has taken on throughout his career, such as his intense muscle-building schedule he followed for his role in Wolverine.
ROGER TAYLOR

The musician captured hearts during his younger years – and he’s continuing to do in his later years (seen in 1983)
When Duran Duran drummer Roger Taylor accompanied his daughter, Ellea, down the aisle this week, he left fans shocked with his impressively youthful look.
Makeup artist Ellea, 33, married her long-term boyfriend, bodybuilder and personal trainer Shiro Miller, in a breathtaking castle ceremony surrounded by family, friends – and of course, the iconic band themselves.
However, it was 65-year-old Roger who found himself the centre of attention at the glamorous ceremony.
Once crowned Britain’s fifth most eligible bachelor by the high society magazine Tatler in 2004 – in a list that also included Prince William and Hugh Grant – he sported a healthy head of brown hair and cut a dashing figure in a classic black tuxedo as he escorted his daughter down the flower-lined pathway.
Duran Duran’s Instagram account shared pictures of the wedding – held on Monday in the mother of the bride’s home country, Italy – with the caption: ‘Ellea + Shiro September 1, 2025’.
But fans appeared more impressed by Roger’s look. One woman wrote: ‘Roger has aged like a fine wine.’
Another impressed viewer added: ‘So handsome!’ while another said: ‘He literally hasn’t aged!’
‘Roger looks so proud and very handsome! He would make best Bond ever! He’s always my view to a thrill,’ read another cheeky comment.
HUGH JACKMAN

He was quite the unassuming actor during his younger years, but the tide has turned for Hugh Jackman (seen in 1997)

He shared a side-by-side comparison photo of himself when he was younger and Eddie Munster from the 1960’s comedy series, The Munsters

Ahead of his film Wolverine (pictured), Jackman underwent a hardcore exercise regime to achieve his ripped figure

At the age of 56, the Australian actor is often praised as one of the industry’s biggest heartthrobs
He’s known for his ripped and toned physique as the star of the Hollywood blockbuster Wolverine, but it wasn’t always that way for Hugh Jackman.
During his younger years, the 56-year-old was worlds away from how onlookers might perceive him today, donning glasses and wearing his brunette locks into a traditional style.
The actor has mocked his past appearance before, and in a 2020 social media post, he compared his younger self to Eddie Munster from the 1960s comedy series, The Munsters.
Hugh likened one of his early headshots, where he sported spiky hair and sideburns, to the werewolf in the CBS comedy sitcom series. ‘Eddie? Eddie Munster? #throwbackthursday,’ the multi-talented star hilariously captioned the post.
Now in his later years, Hugh’s looks are far from comedic, and he’s quickly asserted himself as one of Hollywood’s hottest heartthrobs.
Talking in a 2019 interview with Whoop, Hugh’s Australian personal trainer for the film, Don Saldino, from New York, revealed the hardcore regime that he underwent to achieve the envious look.
‘He came to be at about 175lbs (79kg) and said we’re going to need to put on as much muscle as possible in the next nine or ten months,’ Don said.
He started training Jackman rigorously every single day, not only tracking his workouts, but also his diet, sleep, and at what points he needed to nap during each day.
GEORGE CLOONEY

During his younger years, George Clooney was better known for his flowing, black mullet (seen as George Burnett in The Facts of Life, 1985)

The American actor continued to experiment with different hair lengths throughout his younger years (seen in 1989)

George has now established himself as a silver fox on the Hollywood scene (seen with his wife, Amal Clooney, in August)

George, pictured at the Venice Film Festival in late August, looking dapper in a tux
Thanks to his shining locks and dapper appearance, George Clooney is perhaps one of Tinseltown’s most prominent silver foxes.
But when he was younger, the now-64-year-old opted for a much-less polished appearance.
Candid snaps from his twenties show him looking much less the sharply dressed, short-haired dashing gentleman that he is today, as his wild curls are let loose and long.
The star also boasted substantial lambchops during his younger years and wore earrings – but he still had the same glint in his eye as he does some decades later.
At the time, it might have come as a surprise that the scruffy star, who donned clashing patterns and beat-up leather jackets, would go on to become one of the highest-grossing actors of all time.
Despite his looks now being praised far and wide, George’s wife, Amal Clooney, had something to say about his new, dyed hair.
The A-lister told Seth Meyers on his late-night show earlier this year that the lawyer said the hair dye job is ‘funny,’ but George admitted, ‘She’ll be glad when it’s gone.’
He joked, ‘The last show is Sunday, we do a matinee, and by the time we go to the Tony’s that night, it’ll be gone.’
DANIEL CRAIG

The James Bond star boasted quite a different appearance to the secret agent when he was younger (seen in 1996)

Daniel (seen in ITV’s Kiss and Tell in 1996) has experimented with blonde locks throughout the years

The British actor (seen at a screening in London, 2024) has become quite the fashion icon in recent times
With his role as James Bond in the beloved franchise, it might be hard to fathom that Daniel Craig didn’t always boast the secret agent’s charming looks.
The actor, 57, is well-known for his blue eyes and dapper sense of style, but he’s not been a stranger to changing up his look over the years.
And during his youth, Craig opted for a much less refined appearance while keeping his blonde locks short.
Still, his piercing blue eyes would be recognisable to most, and now that the Knives Out actor has upped his style game in his fifties, he regularly graces best-looking lists.
His looks even secured him a high-fashion campaign with Spanish brand Loewe that most top models would die for – and he showed his fans that he doesn’t only lend himself to the Bond character.
In the ad campaign, the actor abandoned the alpha male masculinity associated with 007 for high fashion and much better hair.
Daniel’s enviable tresses, yellow-tinted glasses, and chunky patterned knits crafted a look so distant from the alpha Bond that fans dubbed him almost unrecognisable.
The actor has increased the style stakes in recent days in public outings too, choosing to don luxury tailored suits and endearingly quirky jumpers.
COLIN FIRTH

Colin Firth (seen in 1998) opted for a very different look to what he goes for now during his youth

The British actor proved to be a celebrity crush for many in his role of Mr Darcy in Pride and Prejudice (pictured)

Colin ditched his hair-do from his younger years and now styles his silver tresses in a flowing style (seen in London, 2018)
Colin Firth is known and loved for starring in some of his generation’s most favoured romantic comedy films.
With his grey locks, sophisticated style, and lovable persona, the 64-year-old has now confirmed status as one of Hollywood’s silver foxes.
However, it seems that Firth struggled, like most of us, to find his feet when it came to his looks when he was younger.
During his twenties, Firth was photographed striking a pose with a more questionable hairstyle compared to what he sports today.
Instead of combing his hair back like he typically does nowadays, the Bridget Jones’s Diary star decided to keep his hair styled upwards.
Despite the unusual hairstyle, he put on a sweet display in the images, donning an oversized denim jacket and a bandana tied around his neck.
Firth is so loved by his fans that there was an outcry when people found out about his fate in the Bridget Jones franchise.
Viewers were devastated to find out that human rights lawyer Mark, whom Firth plays, was killed by a landmine in Sudan while negotiating the release of aid workers.
MARTIN KEMP

English musician and actor Martin Kemp (seen in London in May, 1983) looks almost unrecognisable from his past self

The father-of-two is still busy on the scene – and is often seen behind the decks playing ’80s tunes

With his freshly styled white locks, Martin (seen in May, 2023) has established himself as a silver fox for many
With his white locks and fierce blue eyes, Martin Kemp is showing onlookers how to look your best at the age of 63.
The English musician and actor from London has come into his looks, and has previously revealed how much time and effort he spends on perfecting his appearance.
But when he was younger, Martin opted for a totally different, more hipster style, and sported two hoop earrings.
His hair was also not as sharp compared to what it is today, with the father of Roman and Harley Kemp keeping his then-brunette hair long and messy.
Martin also appears to be living his best life in his sixties, and in 2022, he made an appearance behind the decks and took to the stage with an energetic DJ set in Stourbridge.
The musician entertained the audience as he hyped them up and mixed together classic anthems with large black headphones on his head.
Martin turned heads in a vibrant pink leopard print shirt, which he teamed with a pair of white jeans and a black belt.
He beamed with the spotlight on him, while opting for a clean shave and styling his silver tresses straight up.
