The estranged wife of longtime NFL star Thomas Davis, Kelly Davis, was arrested last week for attacking her husband's alleged secret lover while at her office as well as after being escorted out of the building. 

Charlotte-based chiropractor Laura Watterson claimed in court documents that Kelly hit her multiple times on Aug. 26, after Kelly Davis suspected she was romantically involved with Thomas. 

An arrest warrant for Kelly over the allegations was issued on Aug. 29, with her being taken into custody last Wednesday, per TMZ. 

Kelly has since admitted to striking Watterson at the chiropractor's office, claiming she did so in self-defense. Kelly has been charged with one count of misdemeanor assault and battery.  

Thomas and Kelly married in 2008, with the two splitting last March, with a court document stating that the former Carolina Panther 'engaged in illicit sexual conduct with at least six women' during their romance. 

After Kelly showed up to speak with Watterson about the alleged hookup, Davis' estranged wife claims the chiropractor grabbed her arm and dug her nails in, instigating the slap.

Kelly admitted to TMZ she hit Watterson again after she was escorted out of the office. Kelly also stated that her fight with Watterson was not over standing in the way of reconciliation between the couple. 

Kelly's attorney, James J Exum, told TMZ that Davis is innocent and 'we look forward to challenging the false allegations once we have a court date.'

The former NFL WAG claims she wanted to start a conversation over the alleged hookup after Watterson had reportedly been close associates with the couple and their son, Notre Dame football commit Thomas Davis Jr., in the past. The couple has two children together. 

Court documents also state Kelly started yelling at Watterson while she was with a patient. 

While the chiropractor attempted to get her out of her office is when the alleged first strike occurred, knocking off her glasses. Kelly then allegedly hit Watterson again on the other side of her head. 

Thomas has not spoken out about the incident, with Watterson's online profile mentioning working with NFL athletes in the past.

However, no proof as to a relationship between Thomas and Watterson was provided in the court documents, per TMZ. 

Thomas, 42, played in the NFL from 2005 through 2020, with 13 years spent on the Panthers before a season each with the Chargers and then-Washington Football Team.
