Android 16 (One UI 8) update now live for Verizon’s Galaxy S24 series

Verizon also brings the Android 16-based One UI 8 upgrade to the Galaxy S24 series in the US. On September 25, Samsung initiated the update’s Global rollout, which expanded to the United States thereafter.

One UI 8, built on Android 16, has a pretty impressive design and feature collection for the Galaxy S24 series on Verizon as well. The carrier has tested this new software before kicking off the rollout to its subscribers.

While Samsung’s One UI 8 has tons of updates, Verizon has highlighted only a few features. It seems the carrier is aware of the fact that it’s just an upgrade to install the new OS, and One UI 8.5 will practically be the real.

Samsung has recently started testing One UI 8.5 on the Galaxy S24 series. The lineup will likely receive its next big One UI upgrade in 2026. The leaked One UI 8.5 build is exposing huge changes Samsung plans for users.

One UI 8.5 is a thing of the future, and it’s time for One UI 8.0. The new software with the September 2025 patch is now rolling out to Verizon users in the US, and they can identify the update via the PDA build versions:

Verizon wants you to try out the Best Face feature within the Gallery app. It helps you fix blinks and odd expressions after taking a motion photo.

The Wallpaper and style section has also been upgraded with wallpaper recommendations from the photos stored in your phone’s Gallery app.

One UI 8 also installs an adaptive clock style for the lock screen. The newly added clock adjusts to the shape of your photos for a seamless style.

Galaxy Buds users appreciate it for bringing the Buds Settings to the phone’s Settings, practically ending the need for opening the Galaxy Wearable.
