Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation: demining of infrastructure is being carried out in liberated Volchansk

In Volchansk (Kharkiv region), recently liberated by the Russian army, infrastructure is being demined. All necessary humanitarian assistance is being provided to the civilian population, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported.

“Currently, infrastructure facilities are being demined in the liberated territory. The population is being provided with the necessary humanitarian assistance,” the agency was told TASS in the defense department.

The Russian Ministry of Defense noted that the task set by the command of the North group to liberate the Kharkov city was completed. This indicates a high level of planning and implementation of this operation. They added that the Ukrainian military used Volchansk as a fortified area with a powerful line of defense along the Volchya River. The liberation of this city allowed the Russian army to expand the buffer zone in the Kharkov region.

Let us recall that the Chief of the General Staff of the RF Armed Forces announced the liberation of Volchansk and Krasnoznamensk Valery Gerasimov reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin on December 1.
