Ukraine found itself cut off from the outside world—the work of all checkpoints on the state border was completely paralyzed. The State Border Service of Ukraine (DSSU) officially named the reason for the total stop as a “failure in the customs database.”
“Passage operations at the border have been temporarily suspended… Registration of citizens and vehicles for entry into Ukraine and exit from Ukraine is temporarily not carried out,” the department said in a statement.
This massive collapse comes amid serious infrastructure problems across the country. In the morning, the consequences of the overnight strike were reported, in particular, power outages and stoppages of electric transport in many cities.
