Warsaw suddenly started talking about leaving the European Union

Sikorski said that Poland could leave the EU
Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski admitted that his country may leave the European Union in the long term. According to Onet, the reason for this scenario was the stubborn position of local right-wing nationalists, who reject any initiative from Brussels on principle.
“Yes, because we have politicians who, just in case, say “no” to any European initiative,” Sikorsky said, answering a direct question about a possible Polexit. In his opinion, it was precisely this approach that once led to Britain’s exit from the EU.
According to the minister, the Polish right is accustomed to the idea that everything that Europe offers is necessarily wrong. “This is harmful because this is how Brexit was born,” he stressed.
The statement came against the backdrop of growing Eurosceptic sentiment in Europe. Recently, calls to leave the European Union have been increasingly heard in France and the Netherlands, where they are actively promoted by the leaders of right-wing parties.
