Kim Kardashian admits regret at not defending sister Khloe during inappropriate interview with Joy Behar

The Kardashians have spent over two decades in the public eye – but Kim Kardashian admits they could have looked out for each other a little more after facing heavy media scrutiny early in their career.

The business mogul, 44, appeared on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast, where she candidly discussed her life and public image.

In the episode, Alex asked the Skims founder about any ‘insane’ interview questions she has received, with Kim recalling a 2011 interview her sisters Kourtney Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian did with Joy Behar.

‘(Joy) just looked at Khloe (and) was like, “How does it feel, Khloe, to just look so different than Kourtney and Kim?”‘ Kim recalled.

‘And how it was just the way that they were asking questions – you could never get away with that today,’ she shared. ‘It’s so crazy that it just was okay at that time.’

Kim admitted that when they did press interviews at the time, she wasn’t aware that people were saying such hurtful things to and about Khloe.

‘(Her) responses were so great though. She was like “I can’t believe you’re asking me this. This is insane.” And I mean, I guess Kourtney and I should have maybe stuck up for her publicly a little bit more when that was happening,’ she said.

‘I think we didn’t know,’ she continued. ‘These are like our first set of interviews, our first time on these shows. Like what can we say? What can’t we?’

‘But just to look back and to know that’s how interviews were conducted is kind of crazy. It’s beyond inappropriate,’ she shared.

In the 2011 interview with Joy, HLN called The Joy Behar Show, which featured Kourtney and Khloe in the infancy of their fame, Joy told Khloe she was pretty but a ‘different pretty.’

‘I was saying during the commercial that you don’t look like your sisters. They look alike,’ Joy said.

‘Are you sure you have the same parents?’

Khloe leaned into the joke, replying: ‘Absolutely not. I do not know. I don’t think I’m related to these people fully, but we’ll go with it.’

She quipped: ‘I like the brand, so hey let’s keep it up. This empire’s pretty good.’

Joy continued to push Khloe, saying: ‘I mean you’re all cute in different ways.’

‘You look more like Kim,’ Joy added, pointing to Kourtney.

‘Yes. She looks like me because I am a little bit older,’ Kourtney replied.

However, Khloe got one last shot at the talk show host.

‘What does that mean for me? I look like a dog?’ she shot back.

‘No, you’re pretty, but you look different pretty,’ Joy told her.

Khloe laughed, jokingly replying: ‘Spoken like a real mother.’

The 40-year-old reality star, who recently shut down Ozempic rumors after revealing a 40-pound weight loss, has been praised for her ‘glow up’ over recent years.

Kim also delved into some of her famous – and controversial – past, including that she was ‘high on drugs’ when she married first husband Damon Thomas.

Kim was just 19 when she married the music producer in a whirlwind ceremony at Las Vegas’ Little White Chapel.

She confessed that she didn’t even tell her family she was getting married, and they first learned of it after finding marital records online.

Kim and Damon, who is 10 years her senior, were married for four years after their Vegas elopement, with the star later branding the union a ‘bad’ mistake.

During the wide-ranging interview, Kim also revealed that the most eye-catching place she’s ever had sex was ‘in a movie theatre,’ while also discussing her ‘toxic’ marriage to her ex-husband Kanye West.

Alex asked Kim to share the wildest thing she’s ever done after taking ‘Molly’ (which is slang for ecstasy).

She admitted: ‘I think I got married in Vegas.

‘But that was also, I take all of my experiences, I said that, and I have to remember if I was at that moment or if we did it high after.

‘Maybe just like in those days when that was a thing, just maybe getting married and not telling my parents, and Kourtney finding it on the internet because it was public record, and then telling my Dad.’
