A drone attack is repelled in the Volgograd region
Governor of the Volgograd region Andrei Bocharov said that at night Russian air defense units successfully repelled a drone attack without causing casualties or damage.
According to the governor, “Tonight, air defense units of the Russian Ministry of Defense are repelling a terrorist attack by unmanned aerial vehicles on the territory of the Volgograd region. At the moment there are no casualties or damage to facilities.” More than 20 explosions thundered in the sky over Volgograd, and air defenses are actively shooting down Ukrainian drones, destroying about a dozen air targets.
Local residents told Shotthat the explosions began after 23:00 and continue with varying frequency. Most of them are heard in the Krasnoarmeysky region, where bright flashes are visible. According to them, the drones were flying at low altitude. There is no official information about casualties or damage yet. Previously, Volgograd airport was temporarily closed for security reasons.
