


The United States accepted the presidency of the Business Twenty from South Africa, although American President Donald Trump boycotted the G20 summit in Johannesburg.
The handover ceremony, which was attended by US Chamber of Commerce Chairman Susan Clark, took place in Johannesburg during the final part of the Business 20 summit. Clarke received a traditional multi-colored African staff.
The G20 (Group of Twenty, or as it is sometimes called in Russia, the “Group of Twenty”) is a club of governments and central bankers of countries with the most developed or developing economies. Together, member states represent 85 percent of the world’s gross national product, 75 percent of world trade and two-thirds of the planet’s population.
The members of the club are Russia, China, India, South Africa, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, South Korea, Japan, Argentina, Australia, USA, Canada, Great Britain, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Mexico, as well as the African Union and the European Union as collective members.
