The Most Popular Frozen Pizzas in the US, According to Instacart

- Instacart shared data with Food & Wine, highlighting the most-purchased and rapidly expanding pizza brands on its platform.
- The data, drawn from July 2024 to June 2025, indicates that Americans continue to favor the frozen pizza brands they grew up with.
- Legacy brands tend to be growing more quickly today, but one relative newcomer in the frozen pizza category may be catching up.
As food costs rose in 2025, the number of frozen pizzas purchased surgedand the market size for this convenience meal is expected to continue growing in the years to come. The reasons seem obvious: Frozen pies are relatively inexpensive, save time for busy households, and spark nostalgia. And data drawn from many of those frozen pizza purchases over the past two years reveal exactly which frozen pie brands Americans love the most.
Instacart shared data with Food & Wine highlighting both the most popular frozen pizza brands among American consumers and the fastest-growing companies in the market. The results indicate that price, unsurprisingly, plays a major role in what we buy, and that home cooks are still loving the legacy brands of their youth.
The most-purchased frozen pizzas in the U.S. reflect childhood favorites
Instacart determined the most popular frozen pizza brands by calculating each brand’s share of purchases in the frozen pizza category on the Instacart app between July 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025. After reviewing the numbers, the 50-year-old brand Red Baron earned the number one spot.
You can pick up Red Baron pies for under $5 at major retailers, including Walmart and Target. Like the runner-up in Instacart’s rankings, DiGiornoRed Baron offers pizzas in a variety of styles, including stuffed crust, deep dish, and “thin and crispy.” The selection of toppings is broad, too, with options ranging from classic cheese or pepperoni to Hawaiian pizza or even a Korean barbecue-inspired pie.
You can get any of the usual pizza options from DiGiorno, and the brand has expanded its line with inventive ideas like a croissant crust. Of course, you can still buy DiGiorno pizzas with a self-rising crust — a signature selling point when Kraft launched the brand in 1995.
Third place in Instacart’s rankings goes to Totino’sa brand most teenagers are likely familiar with. The company is undoubtedly best known for its Pizza Rolls — crispy, bite-sized pockets of dough filled with tomato sauce, mozzarella, and pepperoni. Totino’s also sells standard frozen pizzas, which are distinguished by their square shape.
Midwestern favorite Jack’s came in fourth place, likely a testament to the nostalgia many consumers feel for the brand’s thin, crisp crust. Over the years, Jack’s has expanded its lineup with a wider variety of pizza options — including its own self-rising crust and rectangular pizza “dippers” — but its original thin pizzas remain the company’s most famous product.

Which frozen pizza brands are becoming more popular?
In addition to the most-purchased brands on its app during the designated period, Instacart identified the frozen pizza companies that grew the most in the same year. To determine which products gained popularity, the grocery platform tracked the difference in order volume between July 2024 and 2025 for each brand. In other words, you can think of these as the “most improved” frozen pizza brands on Instacart during that time frame.
Some of the results aren’t surprising: DiGiorno and Red Baron ranked first and third, respectively, in growth. However, second place went to craft pizza company Screamin’ Sicilian.
Launched in 2013, Screamin’ Sicilian is a relative newcomer to the frozen pizza scene, compared to DiGiorno and Red Baron, which have 30 and 50 years in the industry, respectively.
Despite its young age, Screamin’ Sicilian still manages to compete with these pizza giants on price: You can buy one of the Wisconsin-based company’s pies for as little as $5.49.
Screamin’ Sicilian has quickly built a major fan base for its signature butter crust, secret tomato sauce recipe, and Wisconsin-made mozzarella cheese, with many customers saying it rivals restaurant pizza. (This reputation also earned it the number eight spot among the most popular pizzas overall.) Like its competitors, Screamin’ Sicilian offers pizza styles such as thin-crust, stuffed, and Detroit — all available with a wide range of toppings.
Even if you are feeling nostalgic for the pizza brands of your youth, a bite of this emerging brand might convince you to start stocking something new in your freezer.
