The Israeli army responded to a tweet published by the international player Mohamed Salah, captain of the Egyptian team and the star of the Liverpool team, in which he asked about the reasons for the killing of Palestinian player Suleiman Al -Obaid, nicknamed “Pele Palestine”.
On August 6, Al -Obaid died at the age of 41, and the Palestinian Football Association said that he died after “the Israeli forces targeting the anticipated humanitarian aid in the southern Gaza Strip.”
The European Football Association (UEFA) had published, through its account on the “X” platform, last Friday, a statement in which the slaves were aware in which he said: “We bid farewell to Suleiman Al -Obaid (Pele Palestine), a talent that gave an enormous hope for countless children, even at the darkest times,” without indicating the cause of his death.
Mohamed Salah re -published a “UEFA” statement and commented, “Can you tell us how and where and why (the slaves died)?”
Response and attack
In response to Salah’s tweet, a spokesman for the Israeli army said that a preliminary review showed that there were no records indicating any incidents related to the Palestinian player Suleiman Al -Obaid.
“Welcome Muhammad, after the investigation, we did not find any evidence of an accident in which Suleiman Al -Obaid was involved,” Shoshani wrote, adding that “so that we can study the case deeply, we need more details.”
While Israeli activists launched a sharp attack on Mohamed Salah, considering his question as a hint that Israel was responsible for his death.
They denounced Salah’s post, asking why he did not ask similar questions about the death of the Israeli football player to visit Asulin, who was killed, according to their account, in an attack launched by Hamas during the “Nova” music festival on October 7, 2023. They also called on the European Football Association to issue a similar condolence statement for two, similar to what he did with the slaves.
On the other hand, Salah’s tweet met with a great interaction between the stars and lovers of the round witch and the international media, as it won more than 950 thousand admiration marks, 276 thousand re -participation and about 20 thousand comments, and was seen about 62 million people within hours.
According to the website «Al Jazeera NetActivists praised the message of Mohamed Salah to “UEFA”, considering that it is a sincere translation of the pain of the Palestinians, as he posed a simple question that summarizes the tragedy of the martyrdom of slaves. “Can you tell us how he died? Where? And why? ”, In a clear indication of the occupation crimes and the need to expose them to the world.
Others also saw that the timing of Mohamed Salah’s tweet was very successful, as it achieved a wide global resonance, and sent a real message to the world that there are Palestinian athletes citing under the bombing, amid deliberate attempts to blur their human stories.
One of the activists wrote, “Salah’s brave tweet from a brave man, only one tweet that destroyed them and made them in an embarrassing position in front of the world with Israel’s continuous crimes,” said one of the activists.
Another said, “As soon as he wrote a simple comment on the Palestinian player Suleiman Al -Obaid, who was martyred while waiting for aid, the heart of the English media and communication sites in England, all in a state of research and question about the topic, imagine if he was talking from the beginning.”
Many concluded that this step represents the first bold public position for Salah in about 22 months from the beginning of the genocide in Gaza, considering his position a strong solidarity message with the martyrs of the athletes, and an active weapon to communicate the tragedy and suffering of the people of Gaza who are martyred every day.
