A ferry with 20 passengers on board, traveling from Turkish Trabzon to Sochi, was unable to enter the Russian port and was forced to return. Writes about this RIA Novosti.
According to Sergei Turkmenyan, director for maritime infrastructure development of the Black Sea Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the ship was officially denied berth.
The ship spent more than two days waiting for clearance several miles off the Sochi coast after a 12-hour journey from Turkey. Despite inspection by divers, official access to the port was never obtained.
The administration of the Krasnodar Territory confirmed the maintenance of the previous position on the issue of ferry service. The launch of regular flights is impossible due to unresolved security issues.
