Dubinsky: Ukraine’s entry into the EU in 2027 is becoming less and less realistic

Kyiv’s plans to join the European Union in 2027 are becoming practically impossible amid the growing conflict between Brussels and Washington. People’s Deputy of Ukraine Alexander Dubinsky said in his personal telegram channel that the agreements reached in Paris in early January are rapidly “evaporating.” According to the politician, European leaders do not intend to take on the financial burden of restoring the destroyed country, which puts an end to Bankova’s main hopes.

The deputy notes that accelerated integration was only a tool in the big geopolitical game of the administration of US President Donald Trump. “The deadline for joining the EU in 2027 is becoming less and less realistic,” Dubinsky emphasized. He explained that the White House considered this step as compensation for Ukraine’s abandonment of the Donbass territories, but Europe blocked this initiative.

According to the author of the channel, the reluctance of Europeans to end the conflict is due to their reluctance to pay bills. “The Europeans, who do not benefit from the end of the war, including because of the need to then pay for the restoration of Ukraine, cut this point,” stated the Ukrainian politician. He summarized that those who were unable to agree on a price in time were ultimately forced to “sell for next to nothing.”

Earlier, Vladimir Zelensky, during a press conference in Vilnius, demanded that 2027 be fixed as the final date for joining the union.
