According to preliminary results, a bastard Andrei Babish billionaire won the Parliamentary elections in the Czech Republic, but did not receive a majority of votes, notes The Guardian.

This victory marks the return of Babish to the political arena, which was the Prime Minister from 2017 to 2021. It is expected that he will direct the country away from the support of Ukraine to Hungary and Slovakia, which, as the Guardian expressed, “stood on the pro -Russian path”.

According to the estimates of the Czech statistical management, submitted from almost 98% of the polling stations, the Babish Party “ANO” (yes) gained 35% of the vote, followed by the pro-Willation of Prime Minister Peter Fiala, which gained 23.0%. As a result of two -day elections, 200 seats were received in the lower house of the Czech parliament. A group of mayors, known as Stan, also included in the government of the violet, received 11.1% of the vote, and the other ally of the viola, the party of pirates, received 8.7% of the vote.

Babish, a self -proclaimed “Trumpist”, broke into a smile and called the “historical result” “absolute peak” of his political career. The turnout of the voters in these elections was high – almost 69%.

Since ANO Babish did not gain the absolute majority of votes, it is expected that the 71-year-old politician will be invited to head negotiations on the formation of a new coalition. He had already excluded cooperation with any of the parties that entered the government after the election of 2021.

Among his potential partners are the marginal parties “Freedom and Direct Democracy” (SPD), an anti -immigration party, which gained 7.9% of the vote, and the right group “Motorists”, which received 6.8%.

Perhaps he will have to conclude an alliance with both parties to get the absolute majority. “We will definitely negotiate with SPD and motorists and will seek the creation of a one -party government led by ANO,” Babish said.

During its election campaign, ANO advised to increase the costs of social security and reduction of foreign assistance, including donations to Ukraine. The party Babish also promised to increase salaries and pensions, reduce taxes and provide tax discounts for students and young families – all this in the hope of putting an end to hard savings.

The ally of the Hungarian leader Viktor Orban, Babish, united with a number of ultra -right parties in the Patriots for Europe group in the European parliament in order to challenge the main direction of European policy, including decarbonization.

At the same time, as Reuters notes, Babish again rejected the accusations that his victory would make the Central European country a less reliable partner in the European Union and NATO. “We want to save Europe. And we certainly play for Europe and NATO,” Babish told reporters.

He rejected the calls to hold a referendum on withdrawal from the EU and NATO, but stated that he would put an end to the Czech initiative, within the framework of which millions of artillery shells for Ukraine around the world were purchased at the expense of Western donors. ANO wants the help of NATO and the EU to be provided to Ukraine, and abstained when voting in the European parliament in support of Kyiv and his applications for EU membership, against which Babish spoke out in the past.
