Taco Bell Just Dropped a Chicken Bacon Ranch Takeover

Chicken Bacon Ranch Street Chalupas are landing on Taco Bell menus today, a brand representative tells Food & Wine. The latest innovation taps into the bold, Southern-inspired side of Taco Bell’s signature approach, piling its fan-favorite chalupas with a meaty combo reminiscent of a backyard barbecue.

It hits the true “comfort trifecta,” as Taco Bell puts it: Each chalupa is piled high with shredded slow-roasted chicken, crunchy bacon, and a generous layer of shredded cheddar cheese. Pico de gallo — made fresh daily — rounds it out with a bright zing, while creamy avocado ranch sauce packs on added flavor. You can snag it for $5.99 for a limited time.

Given the previous fanfare for this crispy-and-toasty bite, it’s bound to be a hit. Taco Bell calls the classic Cheesy Street Chalupas “one of its best-selling innovations,” thanks to the comforting combo of a crunchy, toasted chalupa shell and gooey cheese throughout. This time around, the California-based chain adds shreds of slow-roasted chicken and crispy bacon for a savory punch.

“The Street Chalupa has become a true platform for flavor innovation at Taco Bell, giving the team a versatile, street-inspired foundation they can reinvent again and again, that has won over countless fans in the process,” a Taco Bell representative tells Food & Wine. “It reflects Taco Bell’s ability to take a familiar staple and transform it in a way that feels bold and distinctly Taco Bell, making it the ideal vehicle to reintroduce a classic like Chicken Bacon Ranch. The result is a craveable new take that brings this fan-favorite combination to the Street Chalupa format for the very first time.”

Chalupas have clearly been top of mind lately. Last August, Taco Bell revived the crunchy favorite with a street taco spin (a key precursor to this month’s savory spin). The chain also briefly launched a Bacon Club Chalupa in 2023, which resembles today’s Chicken Bacon Ranch. Over the years, it has used the crispy chalupa shell as a vehicle for “Naked Chicken,” a Toasted Cheddar Street Chalupa, and more. There are endless options if you’re willing to “think outside the bun.”

Nacho Fries are also getting a smoky, savory upgrade this week. Starting today, you can order Chicken Bacon Ranch Nacho Fries featuring the same combo of chicken, bacon, nacho cheese, pico de gallo, and Avocado Ranch Sauce. We’d bookmark this one as the ultimate midnight snack — especially if you’re craving cookout toppings.
