Samsung is rolling out the September 2025 security update for the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and Galaxy Z Fold 7 phones in the US. The update is available for locked devices on the Verizon network. This update is already out in some countries and will soon be available for all models.
September 2025 security update for these devices can be identified via One UI build versions given below.
- Galaxy S23 – S911USQS6DYI3
- Galaxy S23 Plus – S916USQS6DYI3
- Galaxy S23 Ultra – S918USQS6DYI3
- Galaxy Z Flip 7 – F766USQU4AYI1
- Galaxy Z Fold 7 – F966USQU4AYI1
This fresh update enhances system security and stability to ensure a smoother and more secure Galaxy experience for users. While it doesn’t bring any new features, it addresses several vulnerabilities that could potentially be exploited.
According to Samsung, the September patch includes 71 Android security fixes, two of which are categorized as critical and 58 as high severity. These fixes come from Google and are aimed at patching flaws in the core Android OS.
Moreover, Samsung has added 25 fixes for its One UI software, and also fixed 1 medium-risk issue from Samsung Semiconductor. Some of these problems were already fixed in past updates or don’t affect Galaxy phones. But many are new and important, so it’s important to update your phone as soon as possible.
Keeping your phone updated with the latest security patches helps protect your personal data and improve device performance. If you have a Galaxy S23, Z Flip 7, or Z Fold 7 in Verizon US and haven’t seen the update yet, you can check for it manually. Just head to your phone’s Settings > Software> Download and install button if your Galaxy fetches a new OTA.
