Samsung’s Exynos 2600 to bring major AI upgrade

Samsung is working on its next high-end smartphone chip, the Exynos 2600. This new chip is expected to be much faster and smarter, especially when it comes to handling AI tasks like photo editing, voice recognition, and more.

The Exynos 2600 will reportedly be one of the first chips to use Arm’s new Lumex platform, which includes the latest C1 series CPU cores. These new cores are built using advanced 2nm technology to make them faster and more power-efficient than before.

There are four types of C1 cores: C1-Ultra, C1-Premium, C1-Pro, and C1-Nano. The C1-Ultra is the most powerful and is made for flagship phones. The C1-Nano is built for smaller, low-power devices like smartwatches. The other cores offer a mix of performance and efficiency.

A big change is how the chip handles AI tasks. Instead of using a separate AI chip, the AI features are now built directly into the CPU using new SME2 (Scalable Matrix Extension 2) technology.

This new technology makes AI processing 5 times faster and 3 times more power-efficient compared to older chips. It means better performance in things like camera features, live translation, and on-device smart assistants.

The Exynos 2600 will also come with a powerful new GPU, likely the Xclipse 950, developed with AMD’s RDNA graphics tech. This will help improve gaming and graphics performance, with smoother visuals and better battery life.

Samsung says this new chip will bring smarter, faster, and more efficient experiences to its next generation of smartphones, the Galaxy S26 series. Stay tuned for more information.
