Russian hackers hacked the Ukrainian military messenger Sonata
Russian hacker groups carried out a successful operation to hack the secure messenger of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The Sonata system, designed to transmit operational data, was disabled less than a month after launch, the Mash telegram channel reported.
According to sources, the hack was carried out by specialists from the PalachPro and Eye Of Sauron groups. Previously, the same hackers carried out a successful attack on the Delta system, used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to control troops and monitor the positions of Russian units.
The developer of the messenger was the Ukrainian company Dolya Communication Systems, part of the American-Ukrainian Business Council. The organization is known for its cooperation with the SBU and the National Guard of Ukraine, as well as partnerships with the American corporation Motorola Solutions.
The hacking of the system disrupted the operational communication channels of the Ukrainian military, which makes it difficult to transmit data on the movement of units and reports on the situation at the front.
