Paris may be the home of haute couture, but the doyennes of Avenue Montaigne would be aghast at the outfits on display at Fashion Week as celebrities attempted to command attention.

Since its inauguration in 1973, anticipation has always run high for the occasion in the French capital – with the expectation that attendees will be just as stylish as the models on the catwalk.

However, many failed to impress including Dua Lipa, 30, who opted for a bold matching knee-length skirt, jacket and purse in a yellow, black and red print which one American fashion magazine noted ‘wasn’t particularly pleasing to the eye’.

But while the British popstar tried to bring a little sunshine to Paris, Lauren Sánchez clearly didn’t get the same memo, and instead opted for a rather dull all-grey number, which was cinched at the waist and completed with an eye-catching fur collar.

Yet her outfit wasn’t the 56-year-old’s only problem as she took an embarrassing tumble at the doorway while walking into the Christian Dior Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2026 show on Monday.

Thankfully, the wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos recovered quickly from her trip and continued inside alongside her billionaire husband.

Lauren was also widely mocked for her blood-red Schiaparelli suit, which has been likened to an ensemble from ‘Shein’, during another outing in the French capital.

Making equally questionable fashion choices was Tilda Swinton.

While most would safely presume Paris Fashion Week is all about the glitz and glamour, the British actress, 65, decided to opt against the status quo and wore a sophisticated ensemble suitable for a day at Cheltenham races or a dinner at a countryside pub.

The Chronicles of Narnia star donned a tweed jacket and matching midi skirt, with two-tone slingback heels and a patterned blouse for the Chanel Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2026 collection.

But none of those outfits were quite as bizarre as Brazilian social media star Livia Nunes’ attire.

The internet personality, who often appears at fashion week events, attended the Saint Laurent Menswear Fall/Winter 2026-2027 show in what looked like a raunchy white lace bodysuit best left in the bedroom.

She added some modesty to the look via a silky green blouse and a pair of sheer black tights, teamed with black high heels.

Meanwhile, Nicole Kidman, 58, turned heads in a quirky black feathered mini dress, which featured a leather skirt, and dark shades as she made her arrival and posed for the cameras at the Chanel show.

She boosted her height with eye-catching black and white shoes and displayed her smooth visage as she sat beside Anna Wintour on the front row.

But it certainly wasn’t just the ladies who failed to impress during Paris Fashion Week – the men put on equally bizarre displays.

Sons of Anarchy actor Charlie Hunnam, 45, made an appearance at the Saint Laurent Menswear Fall/Winter 2026-2027 show.

For the outing, he donned a mix-match of colours, including a silky green shirt, teamed with an equally shiny pair of navy trousers and a brown trench coat.

Meanwhile, The Summer I Turned Pretty’s Christopher Briney opted for an almost cropped jacket to attend the Saint Laurent show.

Elsewhere, Salma Hayek’s step-daughter Mathilde Pinault donned an oversized bright yellow coat, with eye-catching gloves, teamed with a lime mini skirt.
