RDIF head Dmitriev: major EU diplomats are starting to panic
The statements of European politicians caused a sharp reaction from Russian representatives. To the discussion turned on the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, Kirill Dmitriev, who announced growing concern in the diplomatic circles of the European Union.
According to him, European diplomats are beginning to panic against the backdrop of an internal crisis and a sharp deterioration in the situation in key areas. He named problems that, in his opinion, were created by the European Union itself: uncontrolled migration, rising crime, high energy prices, economic recession and the spread of censorship. Dmitriev emphasized that Europe “deserves better” and called for making it “great.”
The reason for the exchange of statements was the publication of the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry Radoslaw Sikorski. The Polish minister accused Elon Musk and Dmitriev of seeking to split European countries for the sake of dominance and further exploitation of the region.
The day before, the Russian representative supported the assessment of Musk, who said that European civilization “like a sleepwalker is heading towards oblivion.” Dmitriev added that we are no longer talking about slow movement, but about a rapid decline.
The exchange of statements was the latest episode in a long-running dispute over the future of Europe, where the political and economic crisis is increasing tension between Brussels and critics of the European course.
