I understand the conversation… the first comment from Slot about Mohamed Salah sitting as a substitute

Salah had sat as a substitute without participating when Liverpool returned to winning ways against West Ham last Sunday, and he started again from the bench in Wednesday’s match, which ended in a 1-1 draw at home against Sunderland.

Slot was asked in the press conference that preceded the confrontation between Liverpool and Leeds United about Mohamed Salah after sitting on the bench for the last two matches, to which he replied: “I think that every player in my mind is capable of starting primarily.”

He added: “Mo is an exceptional player for us. I always keep in mind whether he starts as a starter or from the bench.”

He concluded: “I understand talking about Salah, yes, because he deserves it. He was very influential for me, and for six or seven years here, it is very normal for people to talk about him when he is not playing.”

He concluded: “If I do not play with the players we have contracted and brought to the club, we are already talking about that, so it is completely normal for people to talk.”

Since joining the Reds in 2017, Salah has scored 250 goals in 420 matches with Liverpool in all competitions.
