“Beko” than 50% of Egyptians trust sma devices

In a new step that strengthens its leadership in providing innovative home solutions, Beko, one of the leading brands in the field of home appliances in Egypt, issued the results of its first global smart living index (Smart Living Index – SLI) for the Egyptian market. Which revealed a radical shift in Egyptian consumers’ attitudes towards purchasing smart and energy-saving devices, driven by increased awareness of operating efficiency, long-term value, and the necessity of optimal management of family resources.

The “Smart Living Index” from Beko is one of the largest global research studies that explores the evolution of consumer attitudes towards sustainability, energy use, and smart home technology. The study included thousands of consumers in 12 key markets, including Egypt, and assessed how families responded to economic changes by modifying purchasing behaviors and adopting more efficient usage patterns for daily devices.

According to the index results, consumers in Egypt showed a high level of awareness of the costs of operating devices, in conjunction with strong confidence in smart home technologies supported by artificial intelligence. More than 50% of participants in Egypt reported their full confidence in home devices operating with artificial intelligence, which places the Egyptian market among the highest in the world in terms of the level of confidence in smart technologies. Also, 66% of dishwasher users indicated their appreciation for the smart living features, which is a higher percentage than that recorded in several European markets, while 83% of participating consumers showed an accurate awareness of the operating costs of clothes dryers.

Pico’s results show that markets where consumers actively monitor energy consumption experience higher rates of adoption of smart device features. In Egypt, the concept of “smart living” has become increasingly viewed as a practical solution that supports efficient household management, helps with predictable financial planning, and provides convenience in daily life, thus consolidating the position of technology as a fundamental pillar in family budget management.

The index is a global research initiative that aims to provide insights into how financial considerations, technology adoption, and sustainability priorities influence household behavior. The study was conducted independently by JL Partners, with representative demographic quotas to ensure results are accurate across all markets covered.
