For its part, the Workers Sports Club mourned its player Zakaria in a post on Facebook, which said: “Our player Moatasem Zakaria, player of the 2011 team, passed away after a painful accident.”
According to what was reported by local media, the incident occurred on a highway, when the player was hit by a car while doing charitable work to distribute breakfast meals to travelers and passers-by.
The National Media Authority website indicated that the 14-year-old player died at the scene of the accident, in a painful incident that shook the sports street and aroused widespread sympathy.
